Story
In September 2014 I was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic t-cell lymphoma. I had CHOP chemotherapy followed by high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant in King’s College , London. 10 years later I remain in long term remission, currently with three check ups a year.
Tragically last year we lost a close family friend to lymphoma. So devastating and unfair, especially for his family.
I started running in June 2024 and have achieved things I never thought I could, as well as making so many new friends. My confidence in my body has grown so much- I felt disconnected from it for so long, almost disowned it as I felt let down by it.
I feel ready to take on a marathon now and for me it would be a lifetime achievement.
Update- I sustained an injury 8 weeks ago and sadly will not be able to run Brighton marathon as planned. My daughter Jo and my husband Pete are running my miles. I hope to achieve a virtual London marathon by walking the distance across one week.
