Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My bio:
To support Teesside Hospice, I have chosen to push myself mentally and physically to take part in a 6 day expedition through the Sahara Desert - Morocco to raise all important funds for the hospice that changes lives across Teesside.
In the UK, 1 out of 2 people will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime. Teesside Hospice supports around 4,000 people a year with a daily cost of around £20,000 - so a massive 7.5 Million per year to run all the services.
In a way to transform my own past struggles with fighting cancer into a positive fundraising opportunity, my challenge in the blistering heat will include a challenging 20km a day trek, followed by nights camping where temperatures will plummet to around 2 degrees Celsius.
As a cancer survivor, I wanted to commemorate and celebrate my Dad, my lost friends Christine & Louisa and my current friends Cath and Donna who are both currently battling terminal cancer along with many others.
My amazing employer Atomix Education is accommodating my time off work to complete this personal challenge and support Teesside Hospice.
In these challenging times I appreciate donating isn’t a first priority. My fundraising target is £1600 that I will do my upmost to achieve. Any donation all adds up and will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your kind donation ❤️🩹.
