Running for WAY – Because No One Should Grieve Alone

On March 15, 2025, I marked three years without Andy. Three years of navigating a life I never expected, filled with challenges, growth, and a whole lot of figuring things out as I go. I genuinely don’t know what life would look like now without the support I’ve had—but I do know that WAY (Widowed and Young) has been a lifeline.

Grief is isolating. It makes you feel like the only person in the world who has lost their person. But then you find a community like WAY, where you’re met with, “Welcome to the club no one wants to be a part of.” It’s blunt. It’s true. And yet, it’s also incredibly necessary. Because in this club, you realize you’re not alone.

WAY gave me connection, support, and a space to process loss among people who get it. Now, I want to do my part in making sure this incredible organisation continues to be there for others like me.

So, on September 7th 2025, I’m running the Great North Run—because the best way I know how to give back is to raise funds. Every donation, big or small, helps keep WAY going and ensures that no one has to go through this journey without support.
