Story
My childhood friend, Darthanuel Brown, (Darty) was diagnosed with cardiac sarcoma — a rare and aggressive cancer. For two long years, he battled relentlessly through gruelling chemotherapy, radiotherapy, blood transfusions… and so much more.
Although he sadly didn’t make it, one thing he never was — was sorry for himself.
While many would ask, “Why me?”
Darty would say, “Why not me?”
He remained positive throughout the unimaginable. Yes, there were days when it was all too much — he was human — but his spirit never wavered. He was adamant that more research into rare cancers like his needed to be done to prevent late diagnoses and delayed treatment for others.
So it is my honour to honour his wishes.
This April, I will be running the London Marathon 2026 under Sarcoma UK – Team Sarcoma, in memory of Darty ❤️
And as a thank you to the whole of Darty’s Army 💪
This one’s for you.
Your strength runs with me every mile.
Sassy x
Thank you for visiting my page. I've chosen to run the 2026 London Marathon for Sarcoma UK, a charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this.
Your donations go so far in helping the sarcoma community:
£25 Could fund a Research Associate to work on a Sarcoma UK research project for one hour.
£334 Could fund Sarcoma UK's specialist Support Line for a day.
£2,000 Could help with the manufacture of a new-generation drug (PROTAC) which specifically targets sarcoma proteins and could reduce treatment side-effects.
Thank you for helping me make an impact.
