Inspired by the immense event of this month in Villa Park with the 'Back to the Beginning' Black Sabbath charity concert, I've decided to raise the sabre for the Horus Heresy community to unite and show their mettle towards a noble and worthy cause.

Acorns Children’s Hospice provides a network of specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families. They are there whenever and wherever they’re needed—whether that’s in the hospice, out in the community, or at home.

Their services include short breaks for children at the hospices, therapeutic and psychosocial support, care for siblings and other family members, as well as emergency and end-of-life care and bereavement support.

Each child receives care tailored to their individual needs—clinical, emotional, cultural, and spiritual. Over the past year, Acorns has supported 781 children and 1,045 families across the West Midlands, including families who are grieving the loss of a child.

These are the true heroes of humanity, unlike the genetically engineered ones we read about in our books and admire in our tabletop games. My ambition is to paint the entirety of my Saturnine box set over a single weekend, and fundraise as much as possible for the incredible Acorns to support their life changing work.

The Heresy community is renowned for it's hobby passion and dedication to the setting. I am asking all of you to join me. You can be building and painting your new Saturnine kits, or finishing off those MKVI marines from last edition, or even playing a game (any edition you prefer...) with your pal and let us know the results! The aim is to wave the Heresy banner high, and to raise money for this mega charity.
