St Richard’s Hospice is an independent charity offering free, expert care for adults with an illness that cannot be cured, and support for their loved ones and carers. Each year the hospice team supports more than 3,100 patients, family members and bereaved people in Worcestershire.

Story

Hiya my name’s Savannah, I'm 21 years old and I live in Worcestershire, UK........ AND I’M JUMPING OUT OF A PLANE!!!

Bit of back story.. so when i was 3 years old, my dad Matthew Pell, was diagnosed with lung cancer which later then spread to his brain. Although my parents didn't want me and my brothers (Alex and Harrison) knowing exactly what was happening, we did know that something serious was going on and everything seemed different.

On the 16th August 2008 our lives changed forever when my Daddy lost his 13 month battle with the evil disease Cancer…

I was just 4 years old, Harrison 6 years old, Alex was 9 years old and our poor mum had lost her husband when she was 30 years old.

Every year on daddy's birthday, anniversary, fathers day and Christmas... me and my family celebrate his life but last year he would have turned 50! and i want to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice where my daddy spent his last days.

St Richards Hospice were so amazing and took care of us all, they provided bereavement support for us as a family and also individually at times, and we couldn’t thank them enough.

11 years ago I raised £1,636 by shaving my head completely bald, donating the money to Cancer Research UK and my long hair to The Little Princess Trust where they make wigs for children who are undergoing chemotherapy. I chose to do that when my dad would’ve turned 40. In age, me and my dad hit round numbers together. So last year would’ve been a big age for him, so I thought to myself “what other way could I raise money that’s a huge deal”

then it hit me,

a SKYDIVEEEE!!! I only managed to enjoy rollercoasters late 2023 so this is a massive deal for me.

I have been planning and preparing to fundraise for St Richard’s Hospice by being launched out of a plane at 13,000ft on the 1st October 2024 (daddy's 50th birthday) but unfortunately due to the weather, this wasnt possible, so instead I have rebooked for what marks 17 years since my dads passing. 16/08/2025.

I have reached my target of £500 but would love it if you could help me raise as much as possible please! :)

If you have donated or better yet, read this far I genuinely am so thankful!!!
