Story
Hi everyone!
We’re a group of neonatal nurses from the kings mill Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and we’ve swapped our tunics for running shoes to take on the Robin Hood half marathon this year — all in support of the incredible work done by Emily Harris Foundation , a lifeline for our babies, their families, and our unit.
Every day, we care for some of the tiniest and most vulnerable little fighters — premature and critically ill newborns who need round-the-clock care, compassion, and the best medical support we can give. But we don’t do it alone. The Emily Harris Foundation plays a huge role in helping us go above and beyond. From funding vital equipment, supporting family accommodation, to providing emotional support in the darkest moments — they are truly part of the team.
This cause is deeply personal to all of us. We’ve laughed with parents on the good days, and cried with them on the hardest. We’ve seen the difference The Emily Harris Foundation makes, and now we want to give something back.
So, we’re lacing up and training hard (even after night shifts!) to run 13.1 miles — every step is for the babies who couldn’t take their first, and for the families who walk the hardest road.
💙 Your donation can help us fund:
• Family spaces and overnight accommodation
• Mental health and bereavement support for parents
• Training and development for NICU staff
No donation is too small. Whether it’s the cost of a coffee or a week’s worth of groceries, it all adds up to make a real difference. Please sponsor us and help us support this amazing charity that stands with us — and our babies — every single day.
With love, hope, and a bit of muscle ache,
The Kingsmill hospital NICU Nutters Running Team 👟👶💕
