Story
Starting from Woolwich, members of Savills Professional Services Division will walk a marathon along the Thames Tow Path to Kew on the 8th of November in aid of Dementia UK.
Dementia affects 1 in 11 people in the UK over the age of 65. Nearly 900,000 people are estimated to have dementia in England and Wales but if trends continue this could reach 1.2 million by 2030 and 1.7 million by 2040 according to study by University College London. Between 2008 and 2016, dementia incidence increased by 25 per cent. These increases will place a larger burden on NHS and social care.
Dementia UK is a specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Their nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, life changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia.
