London bridges charity walk May 2024 · 9 May 2024

The Brain Tumour Charity is the world’s leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we’re moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. A cure really can’t wait

Story

Savills Knightsbridge, Sloane Street and Chelsea are raising money and awareness for The Brain Tumour Charity by walking over all the 26 bridges in London on the 9th May 2024. The walk will total to 30.1 miles, starting at Hampton Court bridge and ending at Tower Bridge.

We are passionately committed to raising awareness and funds to support The Brain Tumour Charity. Our goal is to make a difference in the fight against this relentless disease and provide hope to those affected by it. It's a cruel reality that brain tumours claim more lives among children and adults under 40 than any other cancer, yet historically, only a mere 1% of the national cancer research budget has been dedicated to combating this type of cancer.

Join us in supporting The Brain Tumour Charity by making a donation today. Together, let's move further, faster towards finding a cure for brain tumours.

Charlie William’s (Chelsea) story:

I would like to share the story of losing my mother to a brain tumour last September. It was five years ago when she was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, and the prognosis was grim—only two months to live without immediate surgery. Fortunately, St Georges Hospital in Tooting performed admirably, removing the majority of the tumour and extending her life. However, despite their efforts, my mother's mobility gradually declined until she was confined to bed, requiring round-the-clock care. Caring for a loved one within the healthcare system is a heart-wrenching and arduous journey, taking its toll on both the family and your loved one. Last September, at the age of 66, my mother succumbed to this devastating disease after bravely battling against it.

Izzy Grant’s (Chelsea) story:

My grandma was one of the most graceful, strong, brave and vibrant women I knew. In March 2022, she was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour and despite a surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, we lost her in September 2022. Watching her slowly deteriorate was the most gut wrenching experiences of mine and my family’s lives. We could have not got through that awful time without the help and support from various charities, including the brain tumour charity.
