Story
Cancer has has been a common evil in my loved one’s lives where friends have lost their parents, siblings and grandparents - all experiences throughout which I’ve cried with them and when they are not around, for them when thinking about their loss.
Most recently that evil came even closer to home when my two women role models, my mom and my nan, got diagnosed with tumours within a matter of months - brain and ovarian tumours respectively. The only thing keeping me sane is that they came out to be benign (thankfully!) although their risk of cancer is now much higher. Anyone who’s close to me knows I’m deeply interested in any new health and longevity research (and giving unsolicited advice on it, sorry haha) so the extent to what I can do for them is share it and hope they apply it - not much within my control. What is within my control though, is personally applying what I learn and through that doing my part in contributing to research that can help my family and yours.
I’m not a runner but when an opportunity like this comes around you don’t say no so I’m running the London marathon in April 2026. I’m running for my mom, I’m running for my grandma, I’m running for my friends who feel grateful for having time with their diagnosed loved ones, I’m running for my friends who lost their mothers to cancer at such a young age, I’m running for my friends who lost their sibling and need to stay strong when the rest of the family greaves.
I’m not a seasoned runner or a fundraiser but I have committed to figuring it out for all of them and your close ones who might be going through the same. But I can’t do it alone - I need your help to support the cause. One marathon runner would not solve how we can prevent and better fight cancer but with your help, we are one step closer to getting there.
Please see details to donate below - I’m grateful for your support!
