On the 5th of June, Curtis Morris, Dan Goulding and Tony Rees of Swansea Building Society will be embarking on the National Three Peaks 24hr Challenge, which is an attempt to climb the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales in ‘one go’.

These peaks are Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,345m), Scafell Pike in England (978m), and Snowdon in Wales (1,085m) which is a 3000m+ ascent and covers over 42km in distance.

In addition to the three staff taking on the climb itself, Martin Lewis and Nigel Morris, also of Swansea Building Society, will be supporting the challenge by driving through the day and early hours of night, across the UK in an to attempt to conquer the three peaks within the 24 hour timeline.

The challenge is in aid of Prostate Cymru, with the aim to raise vital funds for the organisation, which is Swansea Building Society's chosen charity of the year.

Prostate Cymru is the leading prostate health charity in Wales supporting men with benign prostate disease and prostate cancer.

The charity has no national or government funding and relies on the kindness and generosity of its fundraisers and volunteers to fulfil its core aims:

• Raising awareness about prostate cancer and prostate diseases,

• Supporting treatments and improving equipment for prostate diseases.

• Funding research and innovation across Wales to ensure that men in Wales suffering with prostate diseases will have access to the best available treatments from the NHS in Wales.

• Supporting the education of medical professionals and students through online learning resources and travelling fellowships.

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in Wales and the risk increases to 1 in 3 if there is a family history of the disease.
