Scanner Hop 2026!
Join or sponsor us to walk, roll or stroll the ~20km between Manchester's research scanners, fundraising for medical imaging research!
The Neuroimaging Methods & Modelling research group at the University of Manchester have organised a "Scanner Hop" fundraiser, aiming to support research within The Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre's Imaging Theme.
On the 24th of September 2026, imaging researchers at the University of Manchester will be running, walking, rolling, or strolling the 20km distance between the research scanners across the city! From the 3T MRI system at Salford Royal Hospital, to the MMU Institute of Sport, NIHR/Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility, the PET-MR at Manchester Royal Infirmary, the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre/The Christie Hospital, all the way down to Wythenshawe Hospital!
Get your trainers on and cause some motion artefacts! The more motion the better! All are welcome to join the event.
