The Big Jump 2024
Campaign by Beat (RCN 801343)
Our annual skydive event is back for 2024! This September our fantastic team of skydivers are flying high for Beat by taking part in The Big Jump to help end the pain and suffering caused by Eating Disorders.

Story

My names Scarlett and on the 1st of March I will be completing a sky dive in order to raise money for Beat, the UK's leading eating disorder charity. Beat supports anyone with an eating disorder, their friends and family, as well as professionals working with or worried about an individual in their care.

Anorexia consumed so many years of my life, stole my education, health, friendships, dreams and all of my energy. Throughout all of it Beat were a constant source of resources, hope and encouragement for me during the toughest time of my life. I was incredibly fortunate to receive fantastic psychological and psychical help through the Maudsley eating disorders team but I still felt incredibly misunderstood. Beat allowed me to feel heard, as well as inspire me.

Fighting an eating disorder is incredibly difficult and fantastic charities like Beat make it feel much more achievable. They are incredibly fatal and misunderstood illnesses, Beat helps too break the hugely incorrect stigma surrounding eating disorders which is often maintained by eating disorder teams.

On the 13th of September 2022 I chose recovery from anorexia and whilst every day since has been a fight I couldn’t be prouder of the 16 year old in me who thought losing weight was the only thing important in life.

Never give up - don’t miss out on 90% of life too weigh 10% less x
