Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

I’m participating in the Sheffield Half Marathon 2026 to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

I’m running in memory of my uncle Andrew and grandma Brenda who sadly passed away from this condition. Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive condition that currently has no cure - it takes away peoples voices, movement, and ultimately their ability to breathe.

My uncle Andrew was an avid runner, who amazingly managed to keep running late after his diagnosis. Throughout his life, he ran marathons, half marathons and fun runs for charity. It feels fitting to attempt to do the same in his memory, for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The Motor Neurone Disease Association is an incredible charity that raises both awareness and money to support those living with MND, their families and research into the condition – to hopefully one day find a cure.

Today in the UK, 6 people will be told they have MND, and sadly a further 6 people will pass away from the condition.

JustGiving will send your donation directly to the MND Association.
