Scotland Cat Centre's fundraiser for Klaus

Scotland Cats Protection Cat Centre is raising money for Cats Protection
We share our lives with cats. They bring happiness to millions of us every day. Yet too many cats don’t get the care and kindness they deserve. At Cats Protection we stand up for every cat to make life better for cats and the people who care for them.

Story

This poor wee lad is 1 year old Klaus. He came to Cats Protection through no fault of his own, in a very bad way. He is currently in one of the isolation units in the centre, waiting for the results to see if he has ringworm.

Ringworm is very contagious to both humans and cats so treating it needs to be done with the utmost care. It can be a very itchy condition, a fungus that uses the top layer of skin to survive. The number one symptom of ringworm is bald patches. From the vet check Klaus received it was estimated that he was about 70% bald. On top of this, the poor guy had scabs all over which the vet thought could be from flea allergy dermatitis.

While the results for ringworm come back, Klaus will stay on a course of medication to calm his inflamed skin and stay in isolation. But being the little champion that he is, he’s not letting his condition bring him down. As one of the centre staff explains “He is a super sweet natured boy; he always comes to you when you call on him for pets. He always chirps at us when you pass his pen or go to socialise with him.”

Klaus will be in our care getting treatment for quite a while. Will you help Klaus and others like him? We appreciate times are tight, the minimum donation set by JustGiving is £2, anything you can donate will be hugely appreciated; whether its £2 or £5, every penny and pound helps, please donate if you can. This is how your donation could make a difference:

£2 could feed a cat in our care for 10 days

£5 could cover worming treatment, protecting a cat from parasites that can lead to discomfort and serious health issues.

£10 could pay for flea treatment, protecting a cat from itching, irritation, and potential infections, while also ensuring they’re comfortable and ready for adoption.

Any funds that we are fortunate enough to raise beyond our target will be used to help other cats and kittens at the centre.

Cats Protection help more cats than any other organisation and we want to help millions more. We are a dedicated community of passionate employees, volunteers, supporters and partners, working together to make life better for millions of cats and the people who care for them.

We are the voice of cats in society and we speak up for their protection.

We’re working towards a society where every cat is treated with kindness and respect.

Making a better life for cats, because life is better with cats.
