Story

This Christmas we are celebrating the life of Ciara Fowler. Ciara was 14 years old and lived round the corner from our house. She sadly passed away on the 6th October this year. Ciara had a condition called Rett Syndrome. She loved everything Disney so in June when we decided to support Reverse Rett it only seemed right to add “Let it go” , her favourite Disney song, to our light display. Little did we know that this would also be the last song played at her funeral.

“Rett Syndrome is a neurological condition which most often strikes previously healthy little girls between their first and second birthday, leaving them with multiple disabilities and medical complexities for life.”

Ciara, you taught us lessons in strength, determination and resilience that we didn’t realise we needed in life. Your smile lit up a room and your memory will stay in our hearts forever. This display is for you beautiful girl! Shine bright little star! xxx
