Scores for Schools - inaugural North West edition 2023

This is the donation page for golfers taking part in this event, scheduled for Friday 24th March 2023.

Hela Sarana

Hela Sarana are a UK-based charity with a project team based across Sri Lanka (www.helasarana.org). One of the main programmes of the charity is the Education Grant Scheme, which aims to support with the following;

- to help academically able students to achieve their full potential

- to provide financial help for deserving undergraduates

- to help students of families affected by CKDu (Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown origin)

Although Sri Lanka has a high literacy rate overall, in rural farming communities there is a big gap.  These grants are intended to support the needs of eligible students with the purchase of books, shoes and uniforms.  There is a vetting process to ensure that the grants reach those most in need.

Scores for Schools

How we can help is to fund raise and donate to help cover the cost of the grants.

Scores for Schools has been going for 8 years now and during that time has fundraised grants for more than 100 kids.

We have the opportunity to bolster those efforts this year by taking part in the first North West edition of the Scores for Schools golfing events.

In fact, 2023 will be the first year that there are two events, with the second leg taking place later on in the year at West Essex Golf Club (Scores for Schools OG HQ!)
