Story
This gorgeous boy is Binx.
Since arriving with us in the middle of January, this sweet, tolerant lad has not had an easy time. Discovered to have an eye ulcer at the first vet exam, you can imagine poor Binx was in a lot of pain. He was put on a treatment of eye drops for 2 weeks to try and clear the eye, but unfortunately, this didn’t help. After a follow up exam, his eye seemed to have worsened and there were complications. It was decided that the kindest option for Binx would be to remove the eye.
Binx underwent the operation at the beginning of February which went well and he was allowed to go to his foster home for his post operative care.
However, this wouldn’t be the end of poor Binx’s journey. Although his eye was healing well from the operation, in April his fosterer noticed some issues with his other eye. He went straight to the vets and was found to have a larger ulcer in his remaining eye. He was again put on eye drops to try and clear the ulcer but sadly, they didn’t seem to work.
We are now looking at specialist surgery to try and save Binx’s remaining eye. The surgery will cost around £2,000 and will help Binx keep his sight and live the rest of his life out of pain. While living with his fosterers, they’ve noted that he spends a lot of his day looking out the window and bird watching.
Will you help us raise funds to help him get his surgery and give him the best chance possible of saving his remaining eye? We understand that times are difficult, but even a donation of £2 can really make a difference. Anything you could spare towards Binx, and other cats like him, would really go a long way.
Any funds that we are fortunate enough to raise beyond our target will be used to help other cats and kittens at the centre.
Thank you.
