AberNecessities - Why Donate?
No Child Should go without-AberNecessities is a local charity supporting underprivileged families in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
From maternity bundles for mother and baby to nappies, formula milk, clothing, toys and equipment for children aged 0-18 years, AberNecessities recognise the importance of meeting the basic needs of a child in order to give them the best start possible.
My Bit
Ride The North is a 100 mile cycling event with a 6,684ft elevation, (2.5 times the height of the worlds tallest building) and the route starts and finishes in Arbroath this year.
There are 2 distances to choose (70 or 100 miles) from but I've gone for the max distance as I feel I need to suffer a bit (okay maybe a lot) to help to do my bit to help raise money for this fantastic charity.
I will give you a full update on the Monday however based on last year I would think it will go:-
0-30 miles "This is easy, 100 will fly in no bother, this is great fun"
30-50 "Why do my legs hurt, this isn't fun anymore, next time i am going to do more training,"
50-99 "Why do i sign up for these things,my legs hurt, my back hurts, why is the mileage going up so slowly.... I'm never doing this again.
99-100 miles This is great fun, I can't wait for next years event, smile for the finish line photo :-)
Every penny of your donation goes towards buying items which are then given directly to families, and it is greatly appreciated if you could support by donating even a small amount.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,
Scott
