Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hello,

I am taking part in Gelt Gladiator as part of the Team Xtreme entry from Xtreme fitness in June (a 10k obstacle course in Brampton) and I would like to take this challenge as an opportunity to raise money for a charity that has helped us with understanding everything . We have a 5 year old who has a diagnosis of autism and PDA and we have found the work that Owl blue offers invaluable so to donate any funds raise to a charity thats done so much for us would be amazing.

Owl Blue works with families of children with hidden disabilities and those who share their lives. We facilitate educational information, advice and strategies by qualified professionals to encourage understanding and self-help, which is tailored to the problems arising from their condition.

Owl Blue facilitates qualified professionals to educate and advise and those in the community that wish to understand individuals effected by hidden disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and co-occurring conditions such as mental health. i.e. voluntary organisations, professionals, local business, NHS, Local Authorities and schools.

Owl Blue aims to achieve an overall understanding of hidden disabilities in the wider community to help create an all inclusive society.

1. The relief of persons within the Autism Spectrum Disorder, including Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and persons with other hidden disabilities, for example, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and sensory impairments such as deafness, and their families and carers in particular, by providing independent professional information, advice and support to those persons. This includes those awaiting NHS diagnosis.

2. To promote social inclusion for people with hidden disabilities who are socially excluded from society, or parts of society by:

a) Preventing people with hidden disabilities from becoming socially excluded;

b) Relieving the needs of such people regardless of sex, race, disability, ethnic origin, religion, belief, creed, sexual orientation or gender re-assignment;

c) Raising public awareness of the issues affecting hidden disability both generally and in relation to social exclusion, through providing workshops, forums, advocacy and general support.

So please anything donated means so much and will help families with Neurodiversities
