A Place Called Here is a peer-led charity offering free, compassionate support to people affected by suicide and traumatic loss. Born from lived experience, the charity exists to ensure that no one has to grieve alone or feel isolated in their pain. We provide safe, non-judgemental peer support spaces where people can share their experiences, feel understood, and find connection with others who truly get it. Suicide bereavement can be overwhelming and lonely, and our support helps people feel less alone, more supported, and more able to cope. Alongside peer support, we offer gentle wellbeing activities such as mindfulness, meditation, breathwork, sound baths, and Reiki. These sessions help calm the nervous system, ease emotional distress, and support healing during grief and trauma. Our services are free and open to anyone affected by suicide, regardless of background or circumstances. By offering early, compassionate support, we help reduce crisis, improve mental wellbeing, and create spaces of hope, care, and connection. Every donation helps us keep our support free, accessible, and rooted in compassion for those who need it most. Anton And Natalie A Place Called Here.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This April I am taking on the challenge of running the Manchester Marathon, which will be my first! After spending about 35 years of my life detesting running, this will push me both mentally and physically, and I question what I was thinking signing up for it every day!

I am hoping to raise some funds for A Place Called Here, they are a local charity based in the Glasgow area offering support to families bereaved by suicide.

I have chosen this charity in memory of my friend Alan, who's wife has been supported by them over the last 3 years after he sadly took his own life.

Any donations will be greatly appreciated and will go along way in helping other families impacted by suicide.

Thanks
