Scott's fundraiser for Alzheimer's Society

Scott Parton is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge 2025 · 24 May 2025 to 25 May 2025 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

In 2024, a good friend of mine was placed in residential care with aggressive early onset dementia.

This terrible, terrible disease has not only robbed her of her memories and independence, but has also brought immeasurable sadness and loss to her husband and to her family and friends.

Throughout this horrendously trying time, the Alzheimer’s Society has been there for my friend and her husband, helping and advising, and generally making things a little more manageable for them both.

I have therefore decided to support the Alzheimer's Society by running the 100km London to Brighton Ultramarathon on Saturday 24th May 2025! I am equally excited and nervous to be doing this; my hope is that I can complete the run and help the Alzheimer's Society a little. I therefore ask you to consider making a small donation to my Just Giving; it will be going to a very good cause and will make my efforts (and potential loss of toenails) very worthwhile.

Thank you in advance for your generous support, and please spare a thought, whenever you can, for my toenails.
