Founded in 2015, and transformed to a non-profitable charitable organisation in June 2020, we aim to help improve the employability and life skills of young people through innovative and fun workshops. Since 2015 Platform7teen has assisted over 4000 sixth formers, and we aim to help more!

Story

I’m running the London Marathon in April to support Platform7teen — a charity close to my heart that helps young people develop the communication, leadership and life skills they need to succeed.

Platform7teen works with schools, colleges and further education settings to improve young people’s verbal and non-verbal communication, boost confidence, build resilience, and strengthen leadership potential. Since its beginnings in 2015, the charity has supported over 4,000 sixth formers, equipping them with essential employability skills that many don’t get elsewhere.

I know first hand how transformative this kind of support can be. When I was at school I benefited from LAMDA training, including public speaking — and it genuinely helped me build the confidence and resilience I needed to apply for university and, later, to lead the Boxing Society of 150 people. That early practice in expressing myself and stepping up helped shape my confidence and ability to take on leadership opportunities.

Through my earlier experience working with organisations in the education and charities sector, I saw how many young people struggle to get the support they need to find their voice, navigate interviews, connect with employers and feel confident in themselves. Combined with my experience in the corporate banking world at Julius Baer, I’ve seen how confidence, communication and resilience can make a significant difference to long-term outcomes.

Platform7teen helps bridge that gap — supporting young people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with vital communication and employability skills that truly change their life chances.

If you can support the charity’s work by sponsoring me, that would mean a lot. No matter how much you are able to give, it will make a difference and help give even more young people the confidence to step forward and succeed.
