Scott's Big Hike Challenge for Brain Tumour Research

Door 2 Door Big Hike Challenge. Walking from Durdle Door to Tower of London Door · 22 September 2025
One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age.
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours.
On September 22, 2025, I and a few others will be taking on the Door 2 Door Big Hike Challenge, walking from Durdle Door (Dorset) to Tower of London Door. This will be a big challenge for us, specially for myself. I had a brain tumour and was very lucky to have had it fully removed. Unfortunately, since then, I have had a lot of problems with recovery. Major issues with my neck, shoulders and back. It stems from the surgeon having to go through my neck. Due to the size of the tumour, the surgeon had to take out my neck bones. Since then, I have all the issues and pains. Thankfully though, I'm lucky to have survived.
So many are not as lucky.
However, I have recently developed Articular Sclerosis in my foot. Making it very difficult and painful to walk long distances. This will not stop me from taking on this challenge. As this challenge is not just about completing a hike; it’s about raising awareness and funds for a cause that affects so many lives.
I invite you to join me in this fight against brain tumours. Your support can help fund vital research that could lead to breakthroughs and ultimately save lives. Together, we will find a cure.
