Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance provides life-saving, pre-hospital critical care, to patients in need. We are your local air ambulance charity, a vital part of the community and we rely on your support. Together, with your support, we can be there for patients today, tomorrow and in the future.

Story

I’m taking on the Thames Path 100km Ultra Challenge on 12 September 2026 — which, in simple terms, means I’ve voluntarily signed up to run 100km… for “fun.”

I’ve always had a bit of a questionable love for physical and mental challenges — the kind that make you wonder halfway through why you ever thought it was a good idea. This one will push me to my absolute limits, involve a lot of pain, a fair bit of stubbornness, and almost certainly some regret somewhere around kilometre 70.

But I’m not just doing this to suffer for no reason (although that does seem to be part of it). I’m doing it to support Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance — a service that quite literally saves lives every single day.

Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance is a lifeline for our community, providing critical pre-hospital care when every second counts. Last year alone, they responded to 2,954 emergencies, with each mission costing around £3,500. This incredible service relies entirely on charitable donations from people like you and me.

I’m aiming to raise £575 to help keep their helicopters flying and their teams ready to respond. So while I’ll be out there battling sore legs, questionable life choices, and my own sanity — you can help make it worthwhile.

If you’d like to support a great cause and encourage me to keep going when I’m wondering why I didn’t just pick a nice 5k, please consider donating. Your support will help turn 100km of suffering into something genuinely life-saving.
