Story

On the 4-5 July I’m taking part in the Peak District Ultra Challenge to raise money for Men Walk Talk. The challenge is 100km over 2 days in the Peak District!

Let’s just say I’m fully relying on landscaper strength and energy gels for this one!

Men Walk Talk is a great charity that organises guided walks for men to meet up and talk. Sounds simple but it’s such a big deal for alot of men to open up and get their problems and worry’s out in the open. I’m very lucky that me and my close friends talk a lot and check in on each other, some people don't have this luxury.

That’s why my team “The Blister Boys” are fired up and ready to take on this challenge! We’ve got a list of conversation topics to eat the time away and I’m sure we’ll solve some world issues deep in conversation! Maybe even some of our own.

I‘ve witnessed first hand how mental health can bring people down and unfortunately like many people, have lost loved ones because of it. There’s always time for a conversation and to check in on someone.

Being in the construction industry I know there is a high risk of mental health issues. I know first hand how the stress can get to you and make you feel like there’s no easy way out and sometimes you dont want to get out of bed. I’m lucky and have a really strong network around me.

Which is why I personally push my friends to talk and check in on each other! It’s so important and my line is always open for anyone who needs it!

Really excited and up for it, trainings going well so hopefully can raise some money too :)

Thanks

Scott
