“Glasgow to Edinburgh Canal Walk Challenge”
Amnesty International UK is movement of ordinary people standing up for humanity and human rights. Some of our campaigns includes refugees, climate change, children's rights, women's rights, and conflict-affected countries. When we unite even the smallest acts of humanity make a difference.

Story

For over six decades, Amnesty International UK has been at the forefront of exposing human rights abuses and advocating for justice worldwide. Ongoing campaigns include defending refugee and migrant rights, combating climate change, safeguarding children's and women's rights, Gaza, and standing in solidarity with LGBT communities. Amnesty Scotland is campaigning to urge the Scottish Government to introduce a comprehensive Human Rights Bill that will enshrine legal protections for everyday rights. Amnesty International's historic achievements—such as outlawing torture, holding war criminals accountable, and regulating the arms trade—serve as powerful reminders that collective action can lead to meaningful change.

Members of Amnesty International's network of local groups in Scotland are undertaking undertaking a significant fundraising challenge: walking 60 miles along the Forth and Clyde and Union Canal's towpath between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Most of Amnesty's funding comes through contributions from fund raising activities such as this.Your generous support for the challengers will help us continue in our fight for human rights
