Story

The Cycling Codgers needed a challenge. We are Larry Sheeran and Seamus McAleer. We are going to be cycling the distance of the most famous roads in the United States (Route 66). We will cycle locally and map our miles on to the epic route, whilst raising money to help Friends of the Cancer Centre support local families impacted by cancer.

The challenge will see us clocking up 2278 miles this year and virtually crossing 8 states. We will be starting at the historical Route 66 sign in E Adams St in Chicago and heading west to sunny Santa Monica Pier, California.

As well as taking on a physical challenge, we have pledged to raise £5000 for Friends of the Cancer Centre. This could help fund 200 hours of care from the charity's team of specialist nurses.

Thank you for helping us succeed in my challenge and most importantly, thank you for making a difference to local families impacted by cancer.
