Story
Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
In March 2023 we sadly lost our beautiful cousin Lauren Smyth to cancer at 27 years old. Loz gave her life to helping others. We witnessed the importance of the macmillan cancer ward at the Royal Derby Hospital as the level of care they offered was impeccable. I am running the 2025 London Marathon in aid of macmillan as a thank you for everything they did. From Kev, ange, Calum & Callum and the whole of our family there will never be a thank you big enough for all of the support and care you gave to loz.
Working within the NHS I have seen firsthand how often people become reliant on places like macmillan. Their work is priceless, I’ll be hitting this fundraising from every single angle so if we can raise as much as possible - this is a joint effort albeit I’ll be the one putting myself through the pain on the day but it’s absolutely worth it for such a great cause! 💚💚
