Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are taking part in Paris Marathon 2026. We both have a passion for running & have caught the Marathon bug, Sean having completed his 1st Marathon in Manchester in 2024, & Jane completing her 1st Marathon in Barcelona 2025. We are both excited to be running Paris Marathon 2026, & we would jointly like to support Dementia UK, to raise awareness & vital funds for this charity.

Sean's' Mum, Beryl, is suffering with Dementia. We're familiar with the daily struggle for Mum, & ourselves dealing with the effects of Dementia. We support Mum on a practical level, & emotionally, as well as supporting each other with the strain of the condition. We are managing to keep Mum in her own home of over 50 years, where she has happy memories. We have some support from carers & specialists. We will however, as time moves on, & Mum's dementia progresses, need further support from professionals, & we may even call upon Dementia UK.

Dementia UK are the specialist dementia nursing charity that is here for the whole family. Our nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, life-changing support and advice to anyone affected by dementia.
