Story
VetLife are an incredibly important charity providing free emotional, financial and mental health support to the veterinary profession in their time of need. Surprisingly for many, veterinarians are more likely than the general population to experience depression, anxiety, mental health issues, suicidal ideation and suicide. There are a multitude of reasons why this is the case, but in summary it's a stressful, phtysically and emotionally draining job, and dealing with euthanasia as a positive welfare outcome for our patients my be a driver of seeing suicide as a way to prevent suffering oneself. I've personally availed of VetLife's services in the past myself during a career crisis and time of change, and the help they provided was just incredibly positive and to be honest life changing.
So I'm joining other members of the veterinary community to zip line 150m across the iconic Twickenham stadium to raise vital funds for this stellar charity. I hope you can find what you can to donate and support my effort to raise funds.
