The Rainy Day Trust is Kellaway’s partner charity. This Sunday I will be raising money for The Rainy Day Trust by competing in this year’s Challenge Roth Ironman distance Triathlon race in Germany.
For those of you who don’t know too much about the Rainy Day Trust and the great work, they deliver support to people in need from our industry, this is a good opportunity to raise their profile with you all.
The Rainy Day Trust supports those people finding themselves in difficult and challenging situations that they are unsure how they can navigate through. It is the Rainy Day Trust that can assist in supporting those through these difficult situations, this can be financial support, debt advice, legal advice, an online welfare benefits checker, telephone counselling and support for apprentices amongst a whole load of other stuff.
The volume of enquiries into the trust for help is growing steadily, but they still want to reach, and help more people. So, all your help with raising funds and awareness of the charity and their offering will support the trust to help those who are struggling to find a solution.
To get to this point less than 3 days out, in an ageing body, I am personally surprised, although with plenty of pain to experience! Challenge Roth will see athletes, then me! taking on the 2.4 mile open water swim, 112 mile two loop bike course, then off the bike into those old daps to run the last leg, a 26 mile marathon!
This will take me to a very dark place to navigate to the finish line, but what I will experience along the way will be crowds of spectators helping me to that finish. But, I recognise what I will experience will be nothing close to those people the Rainy Day Trust supports, so please, any help will have long lasting positive outcomes to many families lives.
Big thank you from me for reading this post, and huge applause to the Rainy Day Trust for all their fantastic work they do.
