Story

Mark Yates Foundation – Supporting Zoe’s Place

In memory of my incredible dad, I created the Mark Yates Foundation. My dad, Mark, was the most selfless man I have ever known. He dedicated his life to helping others, no matter how big or small the need. Losing him to metastatic lung cancer was devastating, but it inspired me to carry forward his legacy of compassion and kindness. This foundation is my way of turning grief into purpose – to raise awareness, give back, and support the charities that mean so much to me and countless others.

For our first major initiative, we are dedicating our efforts to support Zoe’s Place, a remarkable hospice that provides crucial care for infants and children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions. Zoe’s Place offers families not just medical support, but love, hope, and the precious gift of time. In times of unimaginable challenges, they are a beacon of comfort and care. Today, more than ever, they need our support to continue their vital work.

To honor my dad’s memory and to make a real difference, I will be running 7 marathons in 7 days. This journey will begin on 10th December and culminate on 17th December, the day that would have marked my dad’s 60th birthday. It’s a challenge that mirrors the resilience and determination my dad displayed every day, and I’m committed to seeing it through in his honor.

I’m asking you, from the bottom of my heart, to join me in making a difference. Please consider making a donation – no matter how small or large, every contribution counts. Your support not only fuels this effort but also brings hope and crucial aid to families in need.

Your generosity has the power to create more moments and memories for these families and more time that my own dad would have cherished. Let’s come together to make an impact that goes beyond what we can imagine.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Thank you for helping me keep my dad’s spirit alive in every step and every breath taken during this challenge.

Let’s make a difference – together.

With gratitude,

Sean Yates
