Story
Mind Over Mountains is a ground-breaking charity that helps people to overcome their mental health challenges through therapeutic outdoor experiences. Our specialist wellbeing walks and retreats bring together professionally guided hill-walking, mindfulness, and quality time with experienced coaches and counsellors.
I have benefitted from Mind Over Mountains selfless work personally. I attended one of their guided walks a couple of years ago, at a very low point in my life. I came away with a heightened appreciation for the transformative power of nature and an entirely renewed perspective.
I know that I benefitted from their gentle approach and I think that many others would too. By fundraising for them during the Pan Celtic Race I would like to give back in some small way.
The Pan Celtic Race is a 2284KM or 1400 mile unsupported bike race around Brittany, France and then back from Portsmouth to Llandudno, Wales.
It is my second attempt at the PCR having crashed out on Day 2 last year. I had an unfortunate incident near Cork which saw me scratch from the race with a broken bike and shoulder.
This year Ive completed 300km, 400km and 1100km rides in the build up to the PCR so I feel well prepared both mentally and physically.
There is no doubt that there will be some very low moments during the ride but I'll just try my best to remember that it doesn't always get worse.
Its all a matter of perspective.
Thank you for any help and support that you can give.
With your help:
£30 could fund a set of coaching cards for use on one of our retreats.
£60 could fund a follow-on coaching or counselling session.
£90 could fund the full cost of a bursary place on one of our wellbeing walks.
