Searls Land- Charlie’s Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge for Kangaroos

Searls Land is raising money for Kangaroos

Ultra Challenge Jurassic Coast Challenge 2026 · 16 May 2026 to 17 May 2026 ·

Kangaroos is a registered disability charity based in Mid Sussex providing a range of fun, inclusive social and leisure activities all year round for children and young adults with learning disabilities and additional needs. Bringing colour to the lives of people with learning disabilities

Story

On 16th May, Charlie will attempt something most people would never even consider: a 100km ultra marathon along the Jurassic Coast in Dorset.

To put that into perspective, this is more than two full marathons back-to-back. Not on flat roads. Not with cheering crowds every mile. But across steep coastal paths, brutal climbs, and relentless descents.

What the challenge really involves:

100 kilometres in a single day

Constant elevation changes along exposed coastal paths

Mental exhaustion as much as physical pain

Running long after the body wants to stop

Managing fatigue, nutrition, and mindset for 10–15+ hours

The training behind the scenes:

To even stand on the start line, Charlie has committed to months of intense training:

Early mornings and long weekends spent running

Back-to-back long runs

Training through bad weather, and fatigue

Building not just physical strength, but mental toughness.
