London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

We’re here for deaf children and everyone who cares about them. We empower families to connect and drive change in their communities, and we campaign to make sure deaf children get the support they need. We lead the way, sharing insight and knowledge in the UK and internationally.

Story

I've decided to do some fundraising for the National Deaf Children's Society 👂🏼 a charity that has been a huge support to Alice and I since we learned of Rupert's profound deafness when he was just 3 months old. It has been a difficult and uncertain journey, made manageable by the regular support of the NDCS, who have been fantastic. They are a well run, practical and knowledgeable charity who fill the holes in NHS care (which are surprisingly large) for deaf children and their families. It's time for us to give back, to say thank you and support future families in similar situations.

I have decided to take on the challenge of a hilly 50 mile Ultramarathon in the Peak District ⛰️ in September, the training for which will require several runs over marathon distance and many Jelly Babies and blister plasters 🤣. Having never run farther than a marathon before this will be a huge challenge and I am so glad to be joined by Jon C for it 👍🏼

After a bit of a rest I will then begin training for the 2024 London Marathon, my target for this will be 3hrs 10m, which will pose a different type of challenge, and yet more Jelly Babies! My sister Kat will be joining me for this 💪🏼

If you and your families could support us and the NDCS in any way, we would be so grateful.

Thank you
