Story
As an executive and leadership team, we wanted to show our support for SECAmb Charity and the incredible work ambulance crews do every day across our region.
On 21 June, we will take on a 90km cycle challenge to help launch SECAmb Charity’s Outrun an Ambulance campaign.
Ambulance crews across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and North East Hampshire travel hundreds of miles every day responding to emergencies, supporting patients and helping communities. This challenge is about recognising that distance and going the extra mile ourselves.
But this is only the start.
Over the next three months, we are inviting teams, stations, staff and supporters from across the region to help us complete the wider challenge by outrunning an ambulance across SECAmb.
The challenge has been split into local areas based on the miles our ambulance crews travel:
Ashford – 107 miles
Banstead – 81 miles
Brighton – 74 miles
Chertsey – 63 miles
Gatwick and Redhill – 90 miles
Guildford – 70 miles
Hastings and Polegate – 95 miles
Medway and Dartford – 79 miles
Paddock Wood – 88 miles
Tangmere and Worthing – 72 miles
Thanet – 117 miles
You can choose your local area, take part as a team or individually, and complete the miles in your own way across the three months. It doesn’t have to be completed in a single day.
Walk it. Run it. Cycle it. Swim it. Dance it.
Every mile counts towards the overall challenge.
Funds raised will support SECAmb Charity’s work supporting ambulance crews, patients and communities across our region.
Thank you for supporting us and helping launch the challenge.
