Second Stride is built on a simple belief: every horse deserves safety, care, and a future filled with dignity.

Our team is creating a compassionate global effort to help injured, neglected, abandoned, and disabled horses receive the rescue, veterinary treatment, rehabilitation, and secure accommodation they need.

Across many communities, horses face life-changing injuries, illness, and hardship. Some are harmed in accidents. Some develop serious mobility or eye injuries. Others are left without support after years of work, or when age, injury, or disability makes it impossible for them to continue. In these moments, they cannot ask for help. We can.

This campaign exists to advocate for horses who need a second chance. We want to support responsible rescue efforts wherever a genuine need is identified and a safe path forward is possible. That may include emergency transport, veterinary assessment, surgery, wound care, rehabilitation, long-term sanctuary, and other forms of specialized support when medically appropriate.

For some horses, recovery may mean returning to comfortable, healthy movement. For others, it may mean learning to live well with permanent limitations. In every case, our goal is the same: to protect life, relieve suffering, and give each horse the respect and care they deserve.
