50 Years of Transplant Success: University Hospital of Leicester’s Golden Milestone

Story

March 2025 is a special time—it marks 50 years since the first kidney transplant was performed at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. This milestone is a true demonstration of the incredible dedication of the healthcare professionals who have spent decades improving the lives of people with kidney failure.

The Sir Professor Bell Kidney Unit has been at the heart of this work, performing over 3,000 transplants for patients in Leicester and the surrounding areas.

As we celebrate this remarkable achievement, I’m reaching out for your support. Your donations will directly contribute to the ongoing efforts of this remarkable team, ensuring that they can continue to provide life-saving care for those in need. Please donate to my page and help make a difference in the lives of transplant patients and their families.
