I'll be busy making marmalade again very soon - with a special limited edition twist to the cooking season! This year I have made 100 jars - one containing a very special 2025 sixpence (special and limited from Royal Mint).

Following the great success and arduous challenge to raise funds for Marie Curie in 2022 by trekking in Patagonia, I am challenging myself to raise funds once again. The Patagonia trek saw me raising over £6000, and it would be great if I were to achieve the same again this year! I shall be trecking the Great Wall of China in October 2025.

Every five minutes in the UK someone dies without getting the care and support they need. I was inspired by the commitment of the Marie Curie nurses I met during the trek to Patagonia trek last year (where between the 2 groups that went, we raised £245k) to fund raise again, humbled by their dedication not only for the patient but crucially to their families.

Many refer to them as 'angels': a knock on the door is a sign that help is at hand and much needed rest is possible both day and night.

Marie Curie Wales relies heavily on our support. A £20 donation provides 1 hour of this vital nursing care and £90 an evening of care in a person' s home.

It will be a privilege to trek again with some of these 'angels', this time on a 6 day trek along the Great Wall of china. this is quite a tough challenge for me, with a lot of hard ascent over unstable ground, so it will mean p[leanty of training this year!
