Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page! We are a barristers' chambers based in central London, and we will be cycling 55 miles from London to Brighton to raise money for The Marylebone Project, a charity that provides a life changing service for women to overcome homelessness.
For more than 90 years, The Marylebone Project has been a place of safety, stability, and renewal for women facing the toughest circumstances. Their work centres on providing a safe, supportive environment where women can rebuild trust, re engage with society, and start to rebuild their lives with the support of an all encompassing service. The women they support face a wide range of challenges, including domestic abuse, human trafficking, alcohol and drug misuse, unemployment, loneliness, disability, and mental health struggles. Whatever their story, the Project is committed to empowering each woman to move toward independence and a hopeful future.
This long standing commitment to supporting women with dignity has defined The Marylebone Project for many years. It’s also what makes the following news particularly important.
The Marylebone Project will be closing at the end of September 2026. As a result, the charity must now support every woman currently in their care into resettlement, even when some may not yet feel fully ready. This is both very sad and an enormous undertaking. In a typical year, they resettle around 45–50 women; by contrast, over the coming months they will need to support almost double that number.
Your kind donation will go directly toward helping their team provide that personalised, intensive support, ensuring each woman receives the care, guidance, and encouragement they need to settle safely into the next chapter. Every donation, big or small, brings real hope at a time when it is needed most and will make a meaningful difference in helping women rebuild their lives with confidence.
Here are some examples of what your support could provide:
• £150 could fund an initial food shop as she settles in.
• £500 could pay for a home starter pack with kitchenware, bedding, and toiletries.
• £2,000 could cover a rental deposit for a new place to live.
We will be very grateful for your generosity, and we encourage you to spread the word and explore the great work The Marylebone Project has done, and continues to do, to support women to overcome homelessness. And as we pedal our way from London to Brighton, every donation, and every cheer of support, will spur us on. Thank you for being part of this effort and for helping make a lasting difference in the lives of women who deserve hope, stability, and a fresh start.
