Selby Tree of Light 2026

Selby Local Voluntary Group is raising money for Yorkshire Cancer Research
Yorkshire is one of the regions hardest hit by cancer. Together, we can change this. Yorkshire Cancer Research is a charity dedicated to finding new cancer cures and treatments and bringing them to people in Yorkshire. Our aim is for more people to survive cancer, in Yorkshire and beyond.

Story

We’re thrilled to be hosting the Selby Tree of Light again this year and invite you to sponsor a light in memory of family and friends by donating to Yorkshire Cancer Research. The names of sponsors and those remembered are recorded in a Book of Remembrance, which is available to read in the Selby Town Hall.

Please simply add the name(s) to be remembered in the comments when donating.

The Selby Tree of Light, created to celebrate the lives of loved ones, will be lit for the 28th year on Saturday, 28th November at 4:30pm, following a carol concert by St Mary’s School Choir at 4pm in the Town Hall.

Since its beginning in 1999, the Selby Tree of Light has raised more than £29,000 to help people with cancer in Yorkshire.
