Story
Hi! I’m Selene, and I’ll be cycling 50 miles this June, to raise money for Response with just two months training.
Until this week (end of April 2026), I hadn’t even owned a bike for about 15 years. I’ve recently struggled with ADHD burnout from the pressures of working full time in a demanding job, combined with the chaos of having a very busy two year old! During my time away from work, I’ve discovered a love for cycling.
I am fortunate enough to have a home, an incredible network of friends, and access to support through my employer, but not everyone has that. That’s where Response comes in.
Response has been at the forefront of supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges for over 50 years. They provide a range of services, including housing, outreach , and community programs that empower people to lead fulfilling lives. Every donation helps Response continue their essential work, supporting more people to rebuild their confidence and independence.
Mental health matters to all of us. Whether it’s a friend, family member, colleague, or even ourselves, we all know someone who has faced mental health challenges. By cycling in the Bike Oxford event, I want to raise awareness and funds to ensure Response can continue to expand their life-changing services. Every mile we ride is for those who need support to take their own steps toward recovery.
Whether you’re able to donate or simply share my page, your support is greatly appreciated!
