Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! I'm running the 2026 London Marathon, to support the work of the MS Society, which is a charity incredibly close to my family and myself.
I am following in the footsteps of my incredible cousins; Edmund, Connie and Alice who have all ran the London Marathon for the MS Society and now the baton has been passed onto me to take to the streets of London to complete the 26.2 miles, where I am running for all those with MS including my mother, Yolanda, and her sister, Jacqueline, who are both living with progressive MS.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unpredictable and incurable condition that affects your brain and spinal cord. It can attack suddenly or progress steadily, bringing a range of symptoms including sight loss, chronic pain, fatigue and mobility problems. No-one with MS can be sure when or how it will affect them next.
For my mother and Jacqueline their whole life has been changed, making everyday life a challenge, filled with frustration as they are unable to live the physically active lives they lived before. However, I am in awe of them both of their continued determination to try and help as many people now and in the future so that we get one step closer to finding a cure for MS.
The MS Society funds vital research into the causes of MS and possible treatments, including Octopus, a revolutionary drug trail which both my mother and aunty are taking part in. The Society also provides a helpline and local groups. Following an exercise class arranged by the local group I know how much my mother's weekly coffee trips to the local village helps her by chatting to other people living with MS.
Thank you very much in advance for any donation! It will continue to motivate me through all of my long training runs.
Thank you xxxx
