Story
This October, I will be taking part in an epic trek to Mount Toubkal in Morocco – the highest peak in North Africa – alongside a group of Deutsche Bank colleagues, in support of Dementia UK.
Dementia is not a normal part of aging. It is a progressive condition that affects memory, thinking, behavior, and the ability to carry out daily activities. But it doesn’t just affect the individual – it deeply impacts families, carers, and entire communities. Over 944,000 people are currently living with dementia in the UK, and this number continues to rise. Far too many families are struggling without access to the care and support they desperately need.
That’s where Dementia UK comes in. They are the only UK charity dedicated to providing specialist dementia support through their Admiral Nurses. These highly trained professionals offer life-changing support to families living with dementia – helping them navigate the toughest days, make informed decisions, and feel less alone.
The funds raised from this trek will help bridge the huge gaps in dementia care. Every pound donated brings expert help closer to the people who need it most.
