Story

WELCOME TO THE SOLOMONS EUROPE NORTH EAST TEAM JUST GIVING PAGE

Solomons Europe is an SME Quantity Surveying practice with offices based across the North. Since 2016 we’ve donated more than £40,000 to charities and good causes based in the communities in which our team members live and work, in addition to our #payitforward initiatives, supporting start-up enterprise and entrepreneurship.

To mark Solomons Europe’s 25th anniversary in 2023, we’re taking a different approach to giving back. Instead of making direct donations, we’ll be raising money through regional fundraising activities for one selected charity, in each of our three operational regions of the North West, Cumbria, and North East.

Following an employee vote, our regional team has chosen Zoe's Place as its 2023 North East regional charity.

Over the coming year, our target is to raise at least £2,500 in each region and donate whatever we raise directly to each selected charity.

The Solomons Europe board is also offering additional donations for the top fundraising regional team and individual. As a competitive bunch, we’re eager to win these additional donations and top the regional league by raising the highest regional fundraising pot for Zoe's Place.

This includes members of our team taking part in a number of events across the year, such as:

1. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 17 June 2023 - a 24-miles (38.6km) round trip walking route including 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. The challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), in this order, and in under 12 hours. These hills form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

2. The Durham City 10K, part of the Durham City Run Festival on Friday 14 July 2023

3. Cleveland Way, 109miles walking challenge over 9 Weekends before Christmas 2023

Each team member will be calling on you – their family, friends and work colleagues – to help them, and ultimately, Zoe's Place.

We’ll be working closely with Zoe's Place over the coming 12 months to support their fantastic cause, so if you would like to learn more about the vital work they undertake in the NW / NE/ C region then please follow this link to their website https://www.zoes-place.org.uk/.

We, of course, understand that times are tough for many at the moment, so any support you can give in helping the North East Team in its efforts to support this fantastic charity, is greatly appreciated.

As Solomons is offering an additional prize donation to recognise the individual who raises the most money during the year, please could you include the name of the person you are sponsoring when you make your kind donation.

About the charity

Zoe's Place is a home from home for babies/infants who have life limiting and life threatening conditions. Zoe's Place offers palliative, specialist respite, and end of life care for infants from birth to five years old. We receive very little funding and therefore rely on donations/fundraising.
