Story

My name is Senka Stojanovic and I am a general surgeon based in one of London's Major Trauma Centers, St. Mary's Hospital. I am thrilled to run the Vitality 10km race and raise funds for the Surgical Research Fund on behalf of The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

This cause is a personal one to me because I see the positive impact surgery has on lives every day and know that the only way to continue to deliver the best care for our patients and improve outcomes is through innovation, research and high quality training of the new generation of surgeons in the UK.

Independent of the NHS, the RCS England safeguards experience, treatment and outcomes of the UK's surgical patients through the ongoing state of the art training of our surgeons and pioneering research. We need your help for this work to continue, flourish and push the frontiers of surgical care.

Choosing to support the RCS England can have direct impact on the future of surgery and the patients it saves. Donor support has enabled RCS England to purchase essential equipment and support a range of projects in surgical education and research.

Thank you for your support and for the support you extend to our patients and surgeons around the country!
