One Wish Dog Foundation isn’t just a charity to me — it’s a lifeline for souls who would otherwise be forgotten. What Jenna and her team do every single day is nothing short of extraordinary. They step into the darkest moments of a dog’s life and offer light, love, and a second chance.

My connection to One Wish began the day Tally walked into the practice where I work. She was stunning — but it was her eyes that broke me. Behind them lived a story of suffering that no creature should ever endure. And yet, somehow, she still had hope. I fell for her instantly. No amount of cruelty in her past could extinguish her spirit. For all her fierce looks, Tally is just a big softie who wants to cuddle, to trust, and to love.

This is what One Wish Dog Foundation does. They take dogs like Tally — locked away, shut down, terrified — and show them what life is meant to feel like. They show them kindness. They show them patience. They show them that humans can be good.

To see a dog go from trembling in a corner to sprinting across a field, tail high and heart open, is witnessing a miracle unfold. And it happens because volunteers give their time, their homes, their hearts, and often their own money, to make it happen.

One Wish is powered by compassion. It’s powered by people who refuse to look away. It’s powered by Jenna’s vision and a team of real-life heroes determined to change the story for every dog that passes through their gates.

But here’s the truth: none of this is free. Vet bills, rehabilitation, safe shelter, transport, behavioral support, nutritious food — it all takes resources. And the more dogs that need saving, the more One Wish needs support.

Angels walk among us — I’ve seen them at One Wish.

And that is why in April I’ll be taking on the Windsor 50K — a 50-kilometre walk through some truly stunning scenery. The views will help… but the training is tough, and the challenge itself will push every part of my physical and mental wellbeing. I’m doing it because these dogs deserve someone fighting for them — and because One Wish Dog Foundation fights for them every single day.
