Story
Hi everyone, I’m back doing the Great North Run again! But in 2026, I’m running to raise money for Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland, a charity that provides life changing support to women and girls affected by sexual violence 💜💚
Every day, survivors navigate the long and often invisible aftermath of trauma. For many, simply getting out of bed and facing the world takes immense strength, showing up even when it’s not easy, and carrying pain others may never see. No one should ever have to face that alone.
Rape Crisis offers specialist counselling, advocacy, group support, and a confidential helpline to create safe spaces where survivors are heard, believed, and supported without judgement. Their vision is simple but powerful: a world where survivors feel supported, their voices are heard, and sexual violence is no longer tolerated.
I’m choosing to run because I believe deeply in the importance of these services and the difference they make every single day. Organisations like Rape Crisis can be a lifeline during some of the most isolating moments a person can experience, a reminder that support truly exists.
Training for a half marathon is a challenge, but it feels small compared to the courage shown by survivors everyday. Every mile I run is in support of a safer society and a future where no one has to suffer in silence.
Taking part gives me a strong sense of purpose, the chance to stand alongside a cause that matters deeply to me and help ensure these vital services continue for those who need them most.
If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you are directly helping someone access support at a time when it could change everything. And if donating isn’t an option, sharing this page can make a huge difference too.
Thank you for helping me turn every step into something much bigger 💜💚
