Serenade Choir Concert 2025 · 7 June 2025

Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

Serenade Community choir in Shepshed was set up to bring together women who love to sing and raise money for local causes. We have over 60 members who come together every week and hold a concert each summer.

Every year the choir nominates a charity to fundraise and raise awareness for and in 2025 our chosen charity is Sepsis Trust.

Some of our members have been personally affected by this life-threatening disease and understand the importance of bringing people's attention to the 'Just Ask: Could it be Sepsis?' campaign.

48,000 people died of sepsis last year, that's the equivalent to 5 people every hour so we're hoping to draw people's attention to the condition and the symptoms to look out for as they are often mistaken for those similar to flu. Early detection and treatment can save lives:
